These are the feelings and
impression of a young Canadian Soldier as he
ventures into world war II. These are actual letters home to his family. These are the first hand accounts of what he felt and how his life was affected by the world war. These letters also describe life at that time. You will note the censor's stamp on the actual letter below. Not only was he trying to keep his mother from worrying but he also had to keep in mind what the censors would allow him to say. He served in the 3rd div, 9th Highland Light Infantry Brigade There are more than 100 letters spanning from July 1944 to November 1945. The letters have been typed for ease of reading. |
