This unique vegetable is a member of the cabbage family and produces a turnip shaped bulb above ground. When cooked, the flavour resembles cauliflower, but it is also delicious raw. An excellent choice for gardens where root maggot or cut worms have hampered root crops.

Purple Vienna - 60 days. Plants 20-25 cm [8-10"] tall, with purplish-green leaf and stem. Bulbs are purple skinned with white flesh. They should be used when about 5 cm [2"] diameter or they can become woody. Standard variety used by home and market gardeners.
