Add New Cemetery
For each cemetery map or photo that you upload to your site, you must add a record of the cemetery here in order for it to be recognized by the software. NOTE: You do
not need to have a map or photo of a cemetery to add a record for it. In fact, you may even add a record for a cemetery if you are uncertain of its name or location.
Modify Existing Cemetery
This section will allow you to find and make changes to an existing cemetery record. Any editing of a cemetery map or photo itself must be done on your computer.
Search for: Enter a keyword or phrase associated with the cemetery you want to modify. Multiple words will be treated as a single string of characters. The checkboxes
below this field indicate which sections of the history records database will be searched for your word or phrase. To retrieve all cemetery records, leave this field blank.
Look in: This is a list of searchable sections of the cemetery records database. Place a check in the box next to each section (or field) you would like to have searched.
If you check the box next to Exact match only, your search term will only return records that match one or more of the checked items exactly in its entirety.
After entering a search term and checking at least one box under Look in, click Continue to retrieve any matching cemetery records.
New / Existing Cemetery Information
Cemetery Name: Include the full, proper name for the cemetery. For example, the Salt Lake City Cemetery should be entered as "Salt Lake City Cemetery", not just "Salt
Lake City" or "Salt Lake".
Map Image to Upload: If you have a map or other photo of this cemetery and it has not yet been uploaded to your web site, click Browse and locate it on your hard drive.
If the photo is already on your site, leave this field blank.
Map File Name on Web Server: If you had previously uploaded your map or photo using FTP, enter the path and file name as it exists within the Headstones folder on your web site.
If the map or image is already on your site, you can click on the Select button to locate the file. If you are uploading
your map or photo now using the previous field, use this box to enter a path and file name for your file after it is uploaded. A suggested path and file name will be prepopulated
for you. NOTE: If you are uploading now, the directory you indicate here
must already exist and must be writeable by all. If not, use your FTP program to create the directory and give it proper rights (use the command CHMOD 777).
City/Chapel, County/Parish, State/Province/Shire, Country: Enter as much information as you know about the location of this cemetery. Country is required, but each of the
other fields is optional.
Notes: If additional information is needed to describe the cemetery or its location, enter it here (optional).
For State/Province/Shire and Country, select an existing entry using the dropdown box. If the desired entry is not present, use the Add New link to add it to the list. If an
entry in the list does not belong there, first select it and then click on the Delete Selected link.
Select Cemetery and Action
Locate the line in the table that describes the photo you wish to modify. Next, click on one of the possible actions listed at the left of that line. To change some or all of the
information regarding this cemetery, choose Edit. To permanently remove the record of this cemetery, choose Delete. NOTE: Choosing Delete only removes
the cemetery record, not any associated map or other photo.
