Haskins Mountain B.C. -
Molybdenum, silver, lead and zinc deposit
Property Description
The Haskin property is located in Northwest BC, 106 km northeast from the town of Dease Lake and 8km north from Highway 37. Exploration in the area dates back to 1955.
The Haskin Property
has two deposit types, which occur as
Mo-Cu porphyry
and
Zn-Pb-Cu-Ag Skarn.
Bismuth, gold and tin values were also noted.
Significant previous drilling has provided a basis for further work on the property.
A 3000m drill program is proposed for 2005.
A molybdenite-quartz-muscovite stockwork is developed in fine and coarse
granitic porphyry and extends into the adjacent cherty sediments. An aplitic lens in the center
of the molybdenum zone contains disseminated molybdenite and molybdenum-coated fractures.
The molybdenum zone measures about 600m by 100-150m and to166m thick. On the northwestern flank
of Mount Haskin, granitic to aplitic rocks of the Eocene Mount Haskin stock intrude Lower Cambrian
Atan Group limestones, phyllites and quartzites.
Two northwest trending pyrrhotite- sphalerite-galena-chalcopyrite massive skarn lenses occur in calc-silicate hornfels (Atan Group rocks) just to the north of the molybdenum zone. These are cut by faults trending about 010 degrees. Sericitic alteration is common.
Haskin has a drill-indicated resource of 13.5 million tons grading 0.09% Mo. The A zone combined with the Fort Reliance Zone has a previously established drill-inferred resource of 700,000 tons grading 5% zinc, 3% lead and 1 oz/t silver.
